The Investment Promotion Board
Working under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, the board ensures the removal of all bottlenecks in project implementation and gives shape to proactive investment policies. It ensures that project related approvals are accorded within four weeks.
Single Window Clearance
It is heartening to note that the Chief Minister himself presides over State Investment Board. Here again there were instances when even small units of Rs. One crore investment, did not get the benefits and incentives offered by the state government, even after repeated appearances before the committee. This was predominantly because of poor understanding of the relevant rules. The investors who go through the process know for sure that there are many sub windows in the single window system and one has go through all of them.
Every investor would look for a computerized database giving information on various items required for establishing industry which could be made available to him on a CD inclusive of maps and photographs of the location and the availability of present infrastructure. This could have been easily established if only the right directions were given for utilization of high technology.
